Description
This set of four woodworking hand planes was manufactured by AMT (American Machine & Tool Co.). The collection includes one long jointer plane, two intermediate-sized jack or smoothing planes, and one smaller block-style plane. The planes are constructed with cast iron bodies finished in black japanning. The totes and knobs are a combination of finished wood and black composite materials. Identifying marks include a lever cap with a cast-in stylized three-leaf emblem and another lever cap stamped with the letters AMT inside a rounded rectangular border. The tools are housed in a custom-built plywood carrying case featuring finger-jointed corners, brass-tone metal latches, and a plastic-grip handle. The interior of the case contains custom-cut wooden blocks and cradles to secure each tool.
Case Length: 24.5 inches
Jointer Plane Length: Approximately 22 inches. Pickup is Friday, July 31, from Noon to 7 pm at our facility in Lancaster, OH. Alternate pickup day is available by appointment for a $5 fee per lot or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
