Description
A collection of contemporary German collectible dolls from the manufacturer Engel-Puppen. The dolls are constructed with vinyl heads, forearms, and lower legs attached to soft, stuffed white cloth bodies. Each doll features weighted sleep eyes with applied lashes and rooted synthetic hair in various shades of blonde, brown, and black. One doll retains an original care tag specifying the use of Real Kanekalon Hair. The dolls are dressed in various outfits, including traditional German regional costumes such as dirndls with embroidery and lace details, while two are presented in their white undergarment bodysuits.
Neck markings include a raised stylized script reading Engel-Puppe accompanied by incised mold numbers, including 135 and 985/. Various tags and labels are present, including blue and white plastic oval wrist tags featuring an angel figure and the text Engel-Puppe seit/since 1896, Made in Germany, along with a CE mark. A red and gold circular paper tag reads Engel PUPPE and WERTERZEUGNIS. Several garments are fitted with blue and silver plastic brand labels reading Engel-Puppe.
Height: 15 to 18 inches. Pickup is Friday, July 31, from Noon to 7 pm at our facility in Lancaster, OH. Alternate pickup day is available by appointment for a $5 fee per lot or we will provide in-house shipping for this item. Condition report:
The lot is in excellent, collector-owned condition. The vinyl components are clean and the cloth bodies show no significant wear or staining. The hair is well-preserved and the clothing appears to be original and in good state. No repairs or restorations are noted.
