Description
This framed artwork is a hand-engraved metal piece by American artist Les Seamster. The central composition depicts a profile of a bald eagle head alongside a single feather, both set within a thin circular border. The work is executed in a technique the artist refers to as Silver Highlights, which involves engraving through a black-coated surface into a silver-toned metal support, specifically aluminum or brass as noted on the artist label. The front of the work is signed SEAMSTER and inscribed ECCL 9:10, a reference to the biblical verse from the book of Ecclesiastes. The artwork is housed in a stained oak-finished wood frame with rounded corners. The verso features a printed biographical and descriptive label providing information on the artist’s life in Texas and Missouri, his self-taught engraving method, and his history of transitioning from industrial engraving to wildlife art.

Frame: 13 x 10.5 inches. Pickup is Friday, July 31, from Noon to 7 pm at our facility in Lancaster, OH. Alternate pickup day is available by appointment for a $5 fee per lot or we will provide in-house shipping for this item. Condition report:
The artwork and frame are in good overall condition with no significant damage to the primary media. The brown paper dust cover on the verso exhibits several tears, areas of wear, and surface losses.
