Description
This is a circular decorative wall sign fashioned after a vintage railroad crossing advance warning sign. The sign is constructed from a plywood base with a painted finish. The design consists of a yellow field with a black diagonal cross. The letters R and R are painted in the top and bottom quadrants. Each letter is embellished with six inset spherical glass reflectors, four in a clear or yellow tint and two in red, designed to resemble mid-20th-century cat’s eye style road signs. The reverse of the sign shows unfinished plywood with some yellow paint overspray and an integrated keyhole hanger for mounting. Several labels are present on the back, including a central logo for Woodpile Fun!, a modern hobby and craft brand, along with a price tag of $13.99 and a small yellow inventory sticker.
Diameter: 20 inches. Pickup is Friday, July 31, from Noon to 7 pm at our facility in Lancaster, OH. Alternate pickup day is available by appointment for a $5 fee per lot or we will provide in-house shipping for this item. Condition report:
The sign is in good decorative condition with characteristics consistent with a handcrafted craft project. Visible brushstrokes and minor surface scuffs are present. There is some minor paint smudging and small areas of paint loss around the edges of the RR symbols and the reflectors.
