Description
This set is a reproduction horse-drawn beer wagon hitch modeled in the style of traditional brewery wagons. The collection includes a wagon, a group of horses, two driver figures, and an assortment of miniature barrels. The wagon, horses, and figures are constructed of painted cast iron, while the miniature barrels are made of turned and stained wood. The horses are depicted as Clydesdales and are arranged in a multi-pair hitch configuration. The wagon is painted red with a white undercarriage and wheels. The two driver figures are depicted in blue uniforms. A rectangular weight wrapped in black material is located in the bed of the wagon. A gold foil retailer label is affixed to the weight for Highlander House, 70 Main Street, Melrose, Massachusetts. The harness system consists of gold-tone metal chains and black cord reins. Pickup is Friday, July 31, from Noon to 7 pm at our facility in Lancaster, OH. Alternate pickup day is available by appointment for a $5 fee per lot or we will provide in-house shipping for this item. Condition report:
The set is in fair to good condition, exhibiting wear consistent with age and previous display. There is visible paint chipping and loss across the wagon body, horses, and figures, with significant wear noted on the figures\' faces. One of the driver figures is missing the lower portion of his left arm and hand. The harness chains and cord reins are partially tangled and disconnected in several areas. Minor surface oxidation is present on the white-painted metal undercarriage.
