Description
This lot features a diverse collection of sports memorabilia primarily focused on Ohio State University Buckeyes football. The collection includes two autographed items: a book titled A Season to Remember: Ohio State s 2002 National Championship bearing a signature on the cover attributed to head coach Jim Tressel, and a wood-mounted photo plaque of quarterback Bobby Hoying with a signature and his jersey number -14-. Notable ephemera includes a 1947 Cleveland Browns vs. N.Y. Yankees official souvenir program, a 1985 Ohio State Football Official Media Guide, and various game programs such as the 1995 Ohio State vs. Notre Dame match and a circa 2011 Spring Game program. Periodicals include a 2015 Sports Illustrated College Football Preview and a 2005 Legends of the Scarlet and Gray commemorative booklet. The set also contains a Buckeye Heroes Honey Nut Toasted Oats collector s cereal box, a 2002 National Championship sticker pack, and a loose color photograph of Eddie George. Included are eight baseball-style caps in red, white, and grey, each embroidered with National Champions 2007 and the university logo. All signatures are unverified and sold as is without certificates of authenticity. Pickup is Friday, July 31, from Noon to 7 pm at our facility in Lancaster, OH. Alternate pickup day is available by appointment for a $5 fee per lot or we will provide in-house shipping for this item. Condition report:
The condition of this collection is varied. The 1947 professional football program exhibits heavy wear with visible creasing, edge tears, and surface loss. Most other printed materials, including programs and magazines, are in good to very good condition, with several items preserved in plastic sleeves. The cereal box shows typical shelf wear and light crushing at the edges. The eight baseball caps appear to be in unused condition.
