Description
A pair of individual tabletop card file drawers constructed of stained hardwood with dovetail joinery, typical of early to mid-20th-century American office equipment. The first box features a lighter brown finish and a combination steel label holder and finger pull. It is identified by a partial original manufacturer decal on the top surface for the Weis Manufacturing Co. of Monroe, Michigan. The second box features a darker reddish-brown mahogany-style finish and more ornate brass hardware, including a separate label holder and a cup-style finger pull. This unit features a metal retailer nameplate for The State Office Supply Co. of Columbus, Ohio, and is stamped along the bottom edge of the drawer front for the manufacturer, Yawman and Erbe Mfg. Co. of Rochester, New York.

Condition report:
Both items are in fair to good vintage condition, exhibiting wear consistent with age and industrial office use. There is significant finish loss, surface scratching, and staining, particularly on the top surface of the Weis box. The wood shows various abrasions and minor staining throughout. The hardware exhibits a natural aged patina and some surface oxidation.
