Description
A collection of multiple publications focused on Russian culture, architecture, and history. Notable volumes include a large quarto edition of Russian Houses by Elizabeth Gaynor, Kari Haavisto, and Darra Goldstein with its original dust jacket; Invitation to Russia by Yuri Ovsianikov, published by Rizzoli in 1991, featuring a dust jacket; and a hardcover photography volume titled Saint Petersburg. The lot also contains a Leningrad guide to architectural landmarks and palaces, a hardcover volume titled Letters of Istvik (Письма Иствика), two matching softcover volumes titled Proletarians (Пролетарии) with nautical imagery, and a large-format biographical work on Boris Yeltsin. Additionally, the collection includes a 1995 edition of Russia by River by Howard Shernoff and Tanya Samofalova. The volumes vary in format from small octavo travel guides to large quarto pictorial editions, featuring publisher’s cloth, pictorial boards, and wrappers. Pickup is Friday, July 31, from Noon to 7 pm at our facility in Lancaster, OH. Alternate pickup day is available by appointment for a $5 fee per lot or we will provide in-house shipping for this item. Condition report:
The collection is in generally good condition with visible shelf wear consistent with age and use. Dust jackets show minor scuffing, edge wear, and small creases. The softcover items and guidebooks exhibit light toning and corner wear. Bindings remain sound across the group.
