Description
An assortment of vintage glass milk bottles and aqua glass insulators. The collection includes a trio of quart-sized glass milk bottles, one of which features a green pyroglaze label for H.R. Sawyer’s Milk and Cream, Bradford. The other two clear bottles are embossed with text including Store 5c Bottle and One Quart Liquid. The lot also contains several aqua-colored glass telephone and telegraph insulators. Manufacturer markings on the insulators identify pieces from Hemingray and Brookfield. Specific embossed text includes Hemingray No 40, Hemingray – 42, W. Brookfield, New York, and Made in U.S.A. One Hemingray insulator is embossed with the patent date May 2 1893 and features sharp drip points on the bottom rim. All items are constructed from molded glass. Pickup is Friday, July 31, from Noon to 7 pm at our facility in Lancaster, OH. Alternate pickup day is available by appointment for a $5 fee per lot or we will provide in-house shipping for this item. Condition report:
The items show age-appropriate wear and use. The milk bottles contain internal residue and surface grime. Several insulators exhibit visible damage, including chips, cracks, and internal fractures, particularly around the base rims and the internal mounting threads.
