Description
This is a vintage industrial floodlight manufactured by Westinghouse, model MRF400, configured as a floor-standing lamp. The fixture features a large rectangular cast metal housing, possibly aluminum or a similar alloy, mounted on a pivoting steel yoke that allows for adjustable vertical aiming. The housing contains a polished metal interior reflector and is protected by a clear tempered glass lens held in place by a gasketed metal frame. The unit is embossed on the exterior with Westinghouse and SUITABLE FOR WET LOCATIONS. The fixture is mounted on a tall vertical pole set into a heavy circular weighted cast iron or steel base. Inside the housing, a technical identification plate lists the following specifications: Style No. 394P 857G28, 120/240 line volts, 480 line V.A., H33 lamp type, and 400 lamp watts. A secondary label confirms it uses a 400-watt mercury vapor lamp. The unit includes an internal regulated ballast and is equipped with a side-mounted Intermatic K4521 photo control unit for automatic dusk-to-dawn operation. The lamp is powered by a grounded three-prong electrical cord.

Condition report:
The item displays a heavy industrial patina consistent with age and previous outdoor use. The cast metal housing shows surface oxidation and light pitting. The pedestal base and upright pole exhibit significant surface rust and lichen-like oxidation. The glass lens is in good condition with no visible cracks or chips. The unit is functional and shown illuminated in the provided photography. Given the vintage nature of the internal ballast and wiring, inspection by a qualified professional is recommended before regular use.
