Description

This tandem tripping canoe is identified by the visible maker mark for Bell Canoe Works and the model name Northwind. The hull is constructed of a Kevlar or similar aramid fiber composite, indicated by the amber-colored weave visible through the resin. The canoe is outfitted with aluminum gunwales and a wooden interior trim package. It features two wood-framed seats with woven cane inserts, a contoured wooden carrying yoke, and an additional wooden thwart. The stern position is equipped with an adjustable metal foot brace. Integrated deck plates are located at the bow and stern, and the vessel includes attached bow and stern painter lines. The exterior hull displays the Ohio registration number OH5099CS and an Ohio watercraft registration decal with an expiration date of March 1, 2009.

Condition report:

The canoe is in used condition. The exterior hull shows widespread surface scuffing, scratches, and abrasions consistent with field use, particularly along the bottom and at the bow and stern. The interior composite surfaces appear clean and well-maintained. The wooden seats, thwarts, and yoke show minor weathering and finish wear but remain structurally sound. The aluminum gunwales exhibit minor surface marks and small impacts. No structural cracks or significant repairs were observed.
