Description
This is an Alesis ADAT-XT 8-track digital audio tape recorder, a foundational piece of digital recording technology from the 1990s. The unit features a 3U rack-mount metal chassis with a molded plastic front panel. The interface includes a multi-color Vacuum Fluorescent Display (VFD) that provides eight 10-segment peak-reading level meters and a digital counter. Front panel controls consist of standard transport buttons (Rewind, Fast Forward, Stop, Play, Record, Eject) and various function keys for track selection, input monitoring, and clock settings. The rear panel provides extensive connectivity, including eight RCA analog inputs, eight RCA analog outputs, a 56-pin ELCO/EDAC multi-pin connector for balanced audio interfacing, ADAT optical digital input and output ports, and 9-pin D-sub connectors for synchronization. The manufacturer label identifies the device as being from Alesis Corporation, Los Angeles, California, with serial number CD3023795.

Alternate pickup day is available by appointment for a $5 fee per lot or we will provide in-house shipping for this item. Condition report:
The unit powers up and the front panel display illuminates fully. Button indicators respond when engaged. The chassis shows cosmetic signs of professional use, including surface dust and minor scuffing on the top panel. There is a small puncture or hole visible in the lower-left portion of the plastic front panel near the rack ear. The unit has not been tested for full recording or playback functionality with an S-VHS tape and is being offered in as-is condition.
