Description
This is an unbranded vintage 4 string tenor banjo featuring a 17 fret fingerboard. The neck is constructed from figured birdseye maple, while the fingerboard is composed of a dark wood with simple dot position markers. The open back pot consists of a wooden rim with a wooden dowel stick coordinator and 16 metal tension brackets and hooks. The instrument is fitted with a natural skin head and a three footed wooden bridge. Hardware includes a metal tailpiece with felt damping and friction tuners with white plastic buttons. Faint, incised characters are present on the bass side of the headstock, though they are not clearly legible.

Condition report:
The banjo is in fair to good vintage condition. The natural skin head shows significant surface staining and small reddish spots. The metal hardware exhibits age appropriate tarnish, patina, and light oxidation. The wood finish on the neck and headstock shows various small scratches, scuffs, and minor finish loss consistent with age and use. The fingerboard and frets show light playing wear.
