Description
This is a student-model flute manufactured by H. and A. Selmer Inc. in Elkhart, Indiana, under the Bundy brand name. The instrument features a three-piece construction consisting of a headjoint, body joint, and footjoint, all constructed from silver-plated metal. It is designed with closed-hole plateau keys and a C footjoint. The headjoint is stamped with a framed Bundy logo and maker marks including Reg. U.S. Pat. Off. and Made by Selmer. The body joint bears the stamped serial number 125678. The flute is housed in a hard-shell case with a textured synthetic exterior and a red plush-lined interior, featuring a circular Bundy emblem on the front. A metal cleaning rod is included and stored within the case. Pickup is Friday, July 31, from Noon to 7 pm at our facility in Lancaster, OH. Alternate pickup day is available by appointment for a $5 fee per lot or we will provide in-house shipping for this item. Condition report:
The instrument is in used, fair condition. There is significant and visible wear to the silver plating, particularly on the headjoint and near the tenon joints, revealing the yellowish base metal beneath. General surface tarnish and light scratches are present across the body and keys. The mechanical action appears complete with all keys and rods present; however, the pads and internal adjustments have not been professionally tested for playability. The case shows typical exterior scuffing and oxidation to the metal latches, though the interior lining remains intact and the case is functional.
