Description
This original silkscreened glass backglass is from a 1978 Williams World Cup pinball machine. The graphic depicts a dynamic soccer match featuring stylized players against a backdrop of concentric rainbow circles. The border displays various national flags, including those of Italy, Argentina, and the United Kingdom, alongside a representation of the FIFA World Cup trophy in the lower left corner. The design incorporates four clear rectangular apertures intended for digital score displays and additional apertures for status indicators such as 1st Up through 4th Up. The lower right corner features the printed mark WORLD CUP SS / COPYRIGHT 1978 / WILLIAMS ELECTRONICS INC. This component was designed for the solid-state version of the pinball game.

Condition report:
Fair vintage condition. The front of the glass shows visible paint lifting, flaking, and crazing, particularly concentrated in the blue title area, the central players\' legs, and the lower sections of the graphic. The reverse side exhibits more significant degradation with large areas of ink and mirror loss. Black electrical tape and adhesive residue are present along the top and side edges from previous mounting.
