Description

This is a vintage backlit mirrored advertising sign for Stroh’s Beer, produced for The Stroh Brewery Company of Detroit, Michigan. The sign was manufactured by Trans World Mfg. Corp. of Little Ferry, New Jersey. The design features a central mirrored field with the Stroh’s brand logo in red script above the word BEER in red block lettering. To the left is the Stroh’s family crest, depicting a black lion rampant on a red shield with a yellow border, topped by a crown. To the right is the slogan FROM ONE BEER LOVER TO ANOTHER in yellow lettering with decorative scrollwork. The central graphics are enclosed within an oval border featuring an iridescent, prismatic finish. The sign is housed in a molded plastic frame finished with a dark wood-grain texture and decorative relief detailing along the borders. The reverse side contains the original manufacturer’s label citing code number 8081-18D and U.S. Patent number 4,067,129, which corresponds to a display device patent granted in 1978.
