Description
This lot features an assortment of three vintage brewery advertising mirrors representing brands from Canada, New Zealand, and Germany. The collection includes a Labatt Blue mirror, a Steinlager mirror, and a DAB Original mirror.
The Labatt Blue mirror displays a central lithographed image of a condensation-covered beer bottle with the brand’s logo and “Imported” text. The graphic is surrounded by a decorative blue border with a frosted, shattered glass texture. It is set in a rectangular wood frame painted blue and includes a wire and chain for hanging on the reverse.
The Steinlager mirror was produced by Glassworks Inc. of San Marcos, California, as indicated by a manufacturer’s label on the back. The oval mirror features the New Zealand Breweries Ltd. logo in teal, red, and white, accented by a crest and a beer stein illustration. It is housed in a dark-stained wood frame with an oval profile and a sawtooth hanger.
The DAB Original mirror advertises the Dortmunder Actien-Brauerei. The graphic elements include the brewery name, logo, and illustrations of hops and grain against a clear mirrored surface with a thin gold-toned border stripe. It is mounted in a rectangular wood frame with a gold and brown finish.
Labatt Blue mirror: 24 inches W x 18.5 inches H
Steinlager mirror: 17.5 inches W x 15 inches H
DAB Original mirror: 24.5 inches W x 17.5 inches H. Pickup is Friday, July 31, from Noon to 7 pm at our facility in Lancaster, OH. Alternate pickup day is available by appointment for a $5 fee per lot or we will provide in-house shipping for this item. Condition report:
All three mirrors are in good vintage condition with age-appropriate wear. The Labatt Blue mirror shows minor scuffing to the blue painted frame. The Steinlager mirror has stray black marks on the reverse cardboard backing, but the glass and frame are well-preserved. The DAB Original mirror frame has two small nicks or puncture marks, one located on the upper rail and one on the lower rail. The mirrored surfaces show light dust and minimal signs of silvering loss.
