Description
This vintage Xenon strobe light is manufactured by RadioShack and identified as Catalog Number 42-3067. The unit features a rectangular housing constructed from composite wood material finished with a black textured coating. The front is fitted with a clear, faceted reflector lens designed to amplify and disperse the strobe effect. The reverse panel contains a central control knob used to activate the unit and adjust the flash rate, along with several circular ventilation ports and a fixed power cord. A manufacturer label on the back provides technical specifications, identifying the unit as a Visual Signaling Appliance custom assembled in the USA for RadioShack, a division of Tandy Corporation. The label specifies the use of model RS 272-1146 bulbs and electrical requirements of 120 Volts, 60 Hz, and Max. 200 mA. It is equipped with a standard 120V power cord and a two-prong plug. The unit is reported to power on. Pickup is Friday, July 31, from Noon to 7 pm at our facility in Lancaster, OH. Alternate pickup day is available by appointment for a $5 fee per lot or we will provide in-house shipping for this item. Condition report:
The item is in fair vintage condition with visible signs of age and previous use. Significant surface dust is present across all components. The black finish on the composite housing shows various scuffs, scratches, and notable wear and chipping along the front edges. The manufacturer label on the rear is yellowed and has a small tear.
