Description
A vintage Tyco HO scale electric model train set featuring a Civil War era theme, identified by web consensus as the Dixie Belle or General set. The set includes a 4-4-0 General-style steam locomotive finished in a green and red livery with gold accents and a matching tender marked W. & A. R. R. The accompanying rolling stock consists of three yellow and orange passenger cars, two inscribed Western & Atlantic (No. 56) and one inscribed W. & A. R. R. (No. 24). The locomotive and cars are constructed with molded plastic bodies and metal wheels, axles, and undercarriages. The collection includes approximately eleven sections of curved HO scale track and one Life-Like Trains brand left-hand switch track (No. 8605) which remains sealed in its original blister packaging. The items are housed in the original Tyco HO’s illustrated manufacturer box. Pickup is Friday, July 31, from Noon to 7 pm at our facility in Lancaster, OH. Alternate pickup day is available by appointment for a $5 fee per lot or we will provide in-house shipping for this item. Condition report:
The set is in used condition consistent with age. The locomotive and passenger cars show minor surface wear and dust, while the paint remains vibrant. The original box exhibits significant shelf wear, including edge scuffing and corner tears, with a silver adhesive tape repair visible on the bottom-left corner of the base. The Life-Like switch track is unopened in its original packaging. The mechanical and electrical functionality of the locomotive has not been tested.
