Description
This is a signed and numbered limited edition lithograph by acclaimed Japanese artist Toko Shinoda (1913–2021). The work, titled For thee, features an abstract composition typical of Shinoda’s style, blending traditional calligraphic brushstrokes with modern abstraction. The piece utilizes black ink and gray washes on paper, accented by a prominent diagonal band of hand-applied metallic gold pigment. The lithograph is pencil-signed Toko Shinoda in the lower right margin, accompanied by a Japanese character signature and the date 2001. It is titled For thee and numbered 18/45 in pencil. A circular blindstamp containing the word PRINTED is visible in the lower right corner of the sheet. The work is professionally housed in a black wooden frame with a gold-tone inner fillet and a white mat. The reverse bears a biographical gallery label from Kanda’s Gallery B.O.Q. Co., Ltd.
Overall frame dimensions: 23.5 x 19.5 inches. Pickup is Friday, July 31, from Noon to 7 pm at our facility in Lancaster, OH. Alternate pickup day is available by appointment for a $5 fee per lot or we will provide in-house shipping for this item. Condition report:
The lithograph appears to be in excellent condition. The paper is bright with no visible signs of foxing, toning, or moisture damage. The ink and gold pigment remain vibrant. The frame and mat are in good condition with only minor shelf wear and light dust.
