Description
An offset lithograph titled Red-Tailed Hawk by artist Richard Sloan. The natural history print depicts a red-tailed hawk with wings partially spread, perched on a weathered, leafless branch. The work is titled in the lower center margin and marked PLATE No. XXIII in the upper left corner. It features a hand-signed pencil signature by Richard Sloan in the lower right margin, positioned directly beneath a corresponding printed signature. The print is housed in a stained wood frame with a double mat in cream and brown tones. A label from Flower and Frame Shop is affixed to the reverse side on the brown paper dust cover.
Frame: 34.25 x 28.25 inches
Visible image area: 28 x 22 inches. Pickup is Friday, July 31, from Noon to 7 pm at our facility in Lancaster, OH. Alternate pickup day is available by appointment for a $5 fee per lot or we will provide in-house shipping for this item. Condition report:
The wooden frame exhibits a significant horizontal crack along the top rail and minor scuffing at the corners. The paper shows light, uniform toning consistent with age, but is free of visible foxing or significant handling marks. The glass and double matting are in overall good condition.
