July Military Auction
Lot 26659:
Description
This lot consists of a genuine United States military issue Desert Night Camouflage (DNC) parka accompanied by its original button-in quilted liner. Developed during the late Cold War era and utilized most prominently during Operation Desert Storm (1990-1991), the distinctive grid and splotch pattern was specifically engineered to disrupt the effectiveness of early Soviet-produced Gen 1 night vision devices. The parka features a fishtail-style rear hem with a drawstring, an integrated hood, and pass-through pocket flaps for access to internal clothing layers. The shell is constructed from a lightweight cotton and nylon blend fabric. The quilted liner is made of a nylon ripstop material with polyester insulation. An identification label is sewn into the interior of the liner.
The label reads: LARGE, CHEST: FROM 41 TO 45 INCHES, STOCK NO. 8415-01-102-4484, NATO SIZE 7080/0414, LINER, NIGHT CAMOUFLAGE PARKA.
The NATO size 7080/0414 indicates the garment fits a height range of 170 to 180 centimeters and a chest circumference of 104 to 114 centimeters.
