Description
An assortment of octavo sized volumes focused on military history, primarily centering on the Texas Revolution, the Alamo, and Native American history. The collection comprises several hardcover titles in publisher cloth or boards, many with original dust jackets, as well as trade paperbacks. Notable authors represented include Stephen L. Hardin, Phillip Thomas Tucker, Allan W. Eckert, and Hanson W. Baldwin. Featured titles include Exodus from the Alamo by Phillip Thomas Tucker (Combined Publishing), The Blood of Heroes by James Donovan (Little, Brown and Company), and Texian Iliad by Stephen L. Hardin (University of Texas Press). The collection also features a volume from the Osprey Military Classic Battles series titled The Alamo 1836, a commemorative maroon leatherette volume issued by the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), and a green cloth bound copy of The Wilderness War by Allan W. Eckert with gilt stamped decoration to the front board. Softcover titles include Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee by Dee Brown and the Cherokee Heritage Trails Guidebook. Modern trade editions typically feature illustrated dust jackets and include maps, historical photographs, and indices. We do our best to describe all items in the sale, and we definitely take a ton of photos. But, we are not able to guarantee authenticity or era of items in the sale. Pickup is Wednesday, July 15, from Noon to 5 pm at our facility in Lancaster, OH. Alternate pickup day is available by appointment for a $5 fee per lot or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
