Lot 25330:
Description
A pair of World War II-era US Army M1942 mountain infantry trousers, also known as ski trousers, typically issued to specialized alpine troops including the 10th Mountain Division. Constructed from light olive drab wind-resistant cotton fabric, these trousers feature a double-button waistband closure with a button fly and a sewn-in adjustment panel across the rear waist. The front hips feature two diagonal pockets secured by metal zippers. The zipper pull tabs are stamped Conmar, indicating production by the prominent wartime hardware contractor. Two large cargo pockets with single-button flaps are located on the side-front thighs, and the rear is fitted with two pockets featuring pointed, buttoned flaps. The tapered legs terminate in cuffs equipped with dark elasticized fabric stirrups designed to secure the trousers inside boots. There are no visible manufacturer labels or size stamps on the interior waistband. We do our best to describe all items in the sale, and we definitely take a ton of photos.
