Description
This group consists of military decorations from the First World War era, including three French Croix de Guerre medals and two ribbon bars. The first medal is a bronze 1914-1917 pattern Croix de Guerre, featuring a cross pattee with crossed swords and a central medallion with the profile of Marianne and the inscription REPUBLIQUE FRANCAISE. Its ribbon is decorated with three bronze stars (etoiles de bronze). The collection includes two additional bronze 1914-1918 pattern Croix de Guerre medals, each with a bronze palm leaf (palme en bronze) device on the ribbon. Also included is a Croix de Guerre ribbon bar with a bronze palm, featuring US-style clutch-back fasteners on the reverse, one of which is marked IRA-GREEN. The final item is a ribbon bar for the Inter-Allied Victory Medal, displaying a double-rainbow pattern and two bronze stars, with a safety-pin style fastener on the reverse.
