The bar is struck in .999 fine silver with a mirror-like proof finish. The obverse displays a portrait of Benjamin Franklin and includes inscriptions for the year 2003, FEDERAL RESERVE NOTE, and .999 FINE SILVER. The reverse depicts Independence Hall and bears the WM maker mark. The bar is housed in a clear protective plastic capsule and is accompanied by a blue velvet-lined presentation box and a Certificate of Authenticity with Registration No. 27824.
