Description
This collection comprises an assortment of antique pictorial buttons dating from the 19th century. The specimens are primarily constructed from molded black glass and feature a wide array of embossed decorative motifs. Identified subjects include mythological figures such as Minerva and various warriors, animals including dogs, rabbits, squirrels, and birds, as well as architectural scenes, sailing vessels, and botanical designs. A portion of the collection features gold-colored luster accents applied to the embossed surfaces. The buttons are presented on five display cards with printed category labels and handwritten identification for specific motifs. The collection includes various shapes such as round, oval, and faceted geometric forms.
Width of total display: 27 inches Pick up is Friday, March 13 from 10 am to 4 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
