Description
A collection of assorted collectible buttons organized by material and motif on several display boards. The collection includes buttons crafted from molded resin from Peru, carved antler, bone, horn, vegetable ivory, rubber, and metal, including crystallized tin. The items are categorized by pattern and motif, with boards labeled for Curvilinear Patterns, Linear Pattern, Basket Weave Pattern, Diaper, and Fleur de Lis. Techniques demonstrated include intricate carving, relief molding, enameling, and colorful modern rubber designs. Identification labels on the display cards include references to the Indiana State Button Society, maker G. Fausey, and material notations such as V.I. for vegetable ivory. The buttons are securely mounted on perforated and solid cardstock boards.
Display boards approximately 9 to 11 inches in width Pick up is Friday, March 13 from 10 am to 4 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
