Description
This collection consists of various antique and vintage buttons presented on four themed display cards. The buttons are organized by motif, including crowns, animals such as deer and stags, heraldic crests, and small crosses. Materials represented include brass, silvered metal, white metal, various colored glasses, ceramics, and early plastics such as gutta-percha, celluloid, phenolic, casein, and wood fiber. The buttons exhibit a variety of construction methods including relief designs, cutout patterns, and molded forms with various shank types such as self-shanks, wobble shanks, and pad backs. The items are mounted on informational cards that include typed labels and handwritten notations identifying specific materials and designs.
Display cards: approximately 11 x 8.5 inches each Pick up is Friday, March 13 from 10 am to 4 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
