Description
An assortment of novelty buttons featuring a wide variety of animal motifs. This collection consists of items that are buttons manufactured from gold- and silver-tone metal, painted ceramic, molded plastic, wood, carved bone, horn, and gourd. Certain examples are consistent with JHB Summer Fun designs. Subject matter includes realistic and stylized depictions of zebras, lions, pigs, pandas, tropical birds, elephants, and giraffes. Several buttons are mounted on display cards with printed labels reading ANIMALS, new(er) buttons, and ANIMALS (MIXED AGE). Handwritten annotations on the cards identify specific materials and origins, such as Kangaroo Horn, Mod Horn, Bone, and Made of Gourd – From Peru. Other notes specify Monkey Peach Pit, Panda Paper on Mod, and Echidna from Australia. The collection includes various construction types, including shank-back and sew-through designs.
The display cards measure 9 inches in width. Pick up is Friday, March 13 from 10 am to 4 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
