Description
A collection of buttons presented on two themed display boards. The first board, labeled Identifiable People, contains buttons depicting historical figures such as William Shakespeare, Mahatma Gandhi, Joan of Arc, King Louis IX, Anne of Brittany, and Diane de Poitiers. These buttons are executed in various metals, including brass and silver-toned alloys, as well as enamel and hand-painted porcelain or resin. The second board, labeled Lions, Tigers, Other Wild Cats, features feline-themed buttons in materials including black glass, coconut shell, Satsuma porcelain, and items labeled as ivory. The collection showcases manufacturing techniques such as relief molding, three-dimensional casting, and intricate enameling. Several items are accompanied by handwritten identifying text on the grey and tan mounting boards.
Each board measures approximately 9 by 12 inches. Pick up is Friday, March 13 from 10 am to 4 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
