Description
This collection of Victorian-style picture buttons features an assortment of relief-cast designs in brass-tone and silver-tone metals, alongside molded black glass examples. These items are buttons that depict a diverse range of subjects including mythological figures, opera scenes, cherubs, animals, and landscapes. Specific identified themes based on accompanying notations include Rumpelstiltskin, Cupid at Fountain, Pagoda and Palm Tree, Pierrot and Pierrette, and Charlemagne and the Warning Angel. Many specimens are accompanied by handwritten notes on the display cards referencing specific catalog citations and plate numbers. The collection is organized and mounted on four cardstock display boards.
Display boards approximately 9 x 12 inches each Pick up is Friday, March 13 from 10 am to 4 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
