Description
A collection of assorted vintage and modern glass buttons mounted on four display cards. These items are buttons exhibiting a range of artisanal techniques including back-painted reverse-intaglio, molded figural forms, and faceted surfaces. Figural motifs include a green frog, a dragonfly, and a butterfly, while other pieces feature avian and floral patterns. Construction materials consist of clear and colored glass with decorative finishes such as iridescence, metallic lusters, and hand-painted accents. Several examples contain gold and silver-toned foil inclusions. One small button is marked CUNARD. The cards are labeled BACK PAINTED, DECORATIVE FINISHES MODERN GLASS LARGE, CZECH GLASS PURCHASED IN CZECH REPUBLIC 2018, and 3 IN DIFF. COLOR SM. GLASS. The collection represents a diverse assortment of 20th and 21st-century glass button production. Pick up is Friday, March 13 from 10 am to 4 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
