Description
This extensive collection features an assortment of vintage and modern sewing buttons, primarily crafted from black glass and organized onto multiple display cards. The group is categorized into sections including Modern Black Glass, With Paint (Blk Glass), Metalized Black Glass, and Sew Thru and Pierced. Decorative techniques include relief work with cameo and floral motifs, geometric faceting, and painted accents. A specialized group of paperweight buttons contains internal colorful speckled and millefiori-style inclusions. Some examples feature intaglio or impressed designs, such as a hand holding a flower and leaf patterns. The lot includes a judge’s comment card from a competition referencing Erickson imports. The buttons are mounted on neutral-toned punched cards for study and presentation.
