Description
An assortment of antique and vintage buttons, primarily composed of black glass. The collection features a variety of decorative styles, including mother-of-pearl and shell inlays, iridescent lusters in shades of purple, blue, and gold, and various molded or painted floral and geometric motifs. One off-white display card is labeled Black Glass with Shell Ome and includes detailed handwritten annotations such as H.T. and Sons Pants Button, Purple Irid Luster, and M. Buckle, referring to a small decorative metal buckle included in the lot. The buttons range in shape from standard circular forms to rectangular and square pieces, showcasing designs characteristic of the Victorian era through the mid-20th century.
