Description
This collection of vintage phenolic coat buttons features an assortment of early-to-mid 20th-century designs presented on a display board. These items are buttons crafted from materials including phenolic resin, often referred to as Bakelite, as well as glass and metal. The group includes various shapes and sizes in a color palette of black, cherry red, butterscotch, amber, and mottled brown. Decorative elements consist of metal filigree, carved floral and geometric motifs, and inset faceted glass cabochons in sapphire blue, amethyst purple, and emerald green hues. The display card includes a printed label reading PHENOLIC COAT BUTTONS and a handwritten notation stating TESTED – PROB. ENGLISH BUTTERSCOTCH BAKELITE.
Display card: 9 x 7 inches Pick up is Friday, March 13 from 10 am to 4 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
