Description
A collection of antique black glass pictorial buttons, including examples of Czech manufacture dating to the late 19th century. The round buttons are constructed from relief-molded black glass, with many featuring metallic gold- or silver-toned luster highlights. The decorative motifs are diverse, encompassing architectural scenes such as castles, mills, and towers; mythological subjects including dragons and fabulous creatures; and various human figures such as an archer and subjects described in accompanying notes as Oriental. The collection is presented on a cream-colored gridded display card with handwritten identification labels for each specimen, including Swan Boat, Castle, and Oriental Lady Mirror w/ Fan.
Display card: 9 inches in height Pick up is Friday, March 13 from 10 am to 4 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
