Description
A diverse collection of antique and vintage functional and decorative objects. The centerpiece of the lot is a laboratory balance scale by Central Scientific Co., Chicago, featuring a black-enameled cast iron frame, brass graduated beams, and twin circular white ceramic weighing plates. The collection includes a large brass lantern with glass panels and an internal burner marked Full Inch, and an ornate brass oil lamp with a filigree-pierced square base, scrolling handles, and a clear glass chimney. Also present is a wooden hand-crank coffee grinder with dovetail construction and a partially legible paper label for The Challenge, a miniature three-drawer wooden chest with brass knobs and fluted feet, and a pair of black-finished cast iron candlesticks featuring American eagle motifs. Completing the lot are six brass bell-shaped weights with loop handles and a tapered stone pestle. Materials comprise brass, cast iron, wood, glass, and ceramic. Lantern height approximately 15 inches; scale width approximately 13 inches; chest width approximately 8 inches. Burns in-house shipping is available. Pick up is Friday, March 27 from 10 am to 4 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
