Description
A collection of black and white etchings on paper by artist W.R. Locke, depicting various maritime and regional landscapes. Identified subjects include Drying Sails, In Port Fla., Pine Trees on the Ocklawaha, Eucalyptus Fla., Pelicans, Gulls over the Gulf of Mexico, Fla., and Along the Gulf of Mexico. The prints are housed in gilded wood frames featuring tiered and beaded moldings, set within mauve or white mats under glass. Each work features a pencil signature W.R. Locke in the lower right margin and a pencil-inscribed title in the lower left margin. Several examples are dated to the late 1930s and early 1940s.
