A comprehensive philatelic assembly produced by the Postal Commemorative Society (PCS), comprising five binders of First Day Covers (FDCs). The collection includes three brown padded faux-leather binders titled Golden Replicas of United States Stamps, one blue binder titled The Complete Benjamin Franklin U.S. Half-Dollar Collection (containing FDCs), and one black binder titled U.S. First Day Covers & Special Covers. The lot features numerous commemorative issues with original perforated postage stamps, including Scott #2063 (20c Carter G. Woodson), Scott #2064 (20c Martin Luther King Jr.), Scott #2837 (29c Edward R. Murrow), Scott #2838 (29c D-Day), Scott #2842 (29c James Thurber), Scott #2967 (32c Marilyn Monroe), Scott #3667 (37c Cary Grant), Scott #3675 (37c Madonna and Child), and Scott #4077 (39c Judy Garland). Most covers are accompanied by a 22kt gold foil proof replica mounted within the cachet area. Covers feature official First Day of Issue circular date stamps (CDS) from various post offices including Washington, DC, Chicago, IL, and Anaheim, CA. Cachets are informative and topical, covering subjects such as the Black Heritage series, Legends of Hollywood, space exploration, and American history. Envelopes are addressed to various recipients including Eldon W. Stevens and Calvin J. Pever. Burns in-house shipping is available.
