Description
This collection includes three items of historical and automotive interest. Item one is a vintage black and white promotional photograph on paper mounted to cardstock for Mobilgas (Socony-Vacuum Oil Co.), circa late 1940s to early 1950s. The scene depicts a gas station attendant servicing a child in a pedal car at a pump featuring a Pegasus Mobilgas SPECIAL globe and signage reading For Special Winter Performance and In High Compression Engines. Item two is an obsolete 10 dollar banknote on paper issued by the Confederate States of America in Richmond, dated December 2, 1862. The obverse features a central vignette of the South Carolina State Capitol and a portrait of Robert M.T. Hunter, with a blue geometric X pattern on the reverse. Item three is a matted sporting art print on paper by British artist Cecil Aldin, depicting two terriers and a peacock at a manor house, with the artist signature in the lower-right corner. Photograph: 8 x 10 inches on 11-inch mount. Banknote: 7 inches wide. Art Print: 5.5 x 7.5 inches in 10 x 12-inch mat. Burns in-house shipping is available.
