Description
This curated collection consists of several dozen antique and vintage sewing buttons presented on a light-colored display board. The assortment features a diverse range of molded glass specimens, including multiple pieces identified as opaline glass. The collection is notable for its variety of decorative techniques, including hand-painted details, gilded accents, and intricate molded patterns. Key pictorial pieces include a transfer or painted scene of a rustic house and an ornate robed figure. The buttons showcase various historical manufacturing techniques for glass fasteners, with specific shank constructions noted such as two-way humps, loop-in-plate, and four-way box shanks with and without grooves. Designs range from late Victorian floral motifs and starbursts to mid-century geometric patterns. Pick up is Friday, March 13 from 10 am to 4 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
