Description
These are buttons assembled as a mounted collection of antique and vintage examples primarily featuring the theme of male heads and busts. The assortment includes pieces crafted from various materials such as brass, silver-toned metal, porcelain, glass, and carved early plastics or natural materials. Several examples depict notable historical and legendary figures, including Napoleon Bonaparte, Henry of Navarre, and Andreas Hofer, while others feature stylized profiles of knights, Spartans, and mythological characters. Notable inscriptions on individual pieces include Empereur Napoleon, Bellvm, and Hofer Andreas. Decorative elements observed include inset rhinestones, enamel work, and intricate relief patterns.
