Description
This collection features several commemorative and society favor buttons. These are buttons constructed from various materials including stamped metal, enamel, and textiles. Notable examples include a Buckeye State Button Society metal button dated 1947 with a sun and mountain motif, and a National Button Society (N.B.S.) New York button dated 1969 depicting a bison. The group also contains an enamel floral button dated 1975, an embroidered clown-motif button dated 2002, and a hand-rendered button on a pink ground dated 2004. A silver-tone metal button features an architectural structure and the date 1850. The items are mounted on a white display card labeled FAVOR BUTTONS with handwritten provenance for Ada Nell McComas and Michigan. Pick up is Friday, March 13 from 10 am to 4 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
