Description
A collection of buttons fashioned from or styled after international coins, mounted on a descriptive display card. The assembly includes examples in silver-tone, brass, and copper alloys. One button incorporates a blue paste stone. The collection represents a wide geographic and temporal range, with dates spanning from the late 17th century through the mid-20th century. Notable specimens include a 1681-1686 Bishopric of Salzburg piece, a 1780 Hungary coin, and a 1904 Panama coin set into a brass mount with a Paris backmark. Other represented nations and regions include India, Bavaria, Pakistan, Great Britain, USA, Peru, West Germany, Netherlands, Canada, Mexico, Japan, France, Australia, and Austria. The items are accompanied by a National Button Society entry form identifying them as specialized buttons made from real coins.
Mounting card: 8.5 x 11 inches Pick up is Friday, March 13 from 10 am to 4 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
