Description
This collection of buttons is primarily composed of Victorian-style white glass and milk glass. The assortment showcases a variety of decorative treatments, including molded floral, geometric, and pictorial motifs. Many examples are finished with gilt accents, hand-painted floral details, or luster glazes. A selection of buttons within the group displays a distinct green fluorescence when viewed under ultraviolet light, identifying them as uranium glass. These items are buttons mounted on display cards with labels reading Victorian White Glass and White Line Design Old Glass. Specific notations on the cards identify features such as long loop shanks and pictorial designs. One individual button is accompanied by a note describing it as imitation fabric.
Display cards approximately 11 inches wide. Pick up is Friday, March 13 from 10 am to 4 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
