Description
This collection of buttons features a diverse range of materials and decorative styles from the Victorian period, including celluloid, clear and black glass, metal, ivoroid, and shell. The assembly is presented on a professionally organized and labeled mounting board with categories such as Fabric OME, Ivoroid, Habitat, Steel stars, Foil OME, and Paste OME. Decorative designs encompass floral motifs, animal subjects, and geometric patterns. Accompanying the set is a blue first-prize ribbon from the Buckeye State Button Society and a 2018 competition entry form identifying the collection as Victorian Celluloid. The entry form includes judges’ commentary noting a wide color range and several scarce shapes.
Mounting board: 12 x 9 inches Pick up is Friday, March 13 from 10 am to 4 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
