Description

A collection of gilt brass buttons dating to the 19th-century Golden Age and Jacksonian periods. The assortment features various embossed decorative motifs including floral sprays, geometric patterns, star motifs, and plain polished faces. Many examples retain a significant portion of their original gold finish. The items are mounted on a white display card with accompanying typewritten labels identifying prominent historical manufacturers such as Scovills, Wadham Coe & Co., Ives Scott & Co., Benedict & Coe, Robinson, and Leavenworth & Kendrick. Labels also include quality and color descriptors such as Super fine, Rich Orange, Extra Stars, and Rich Gold Color. The collection is housed in a protective sleeve labeled Division I: Gilts, Golden Age & Jacksonians.

Display card: 10.5 x 8 inches Pick up is Friday, March 13 from 10 am to 4 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
