Description
This collection of metal buttons is presented on two separate display boards. The first group consists of Victorian-style floral designs featuring embossed, filigree, and cut-work patterns in brass, silver-toned, and copper-toned metals. Associated handwritten notes on the board include references to Paris Bar and Croquet Saddles. The second group is a series of picture buttons depicting human figures, mythological characters, and narrative scenes. These buttons are protected by a clear plastic sleeve and feature detailed identification on the reverse of the mounting card. Identified subjects include Neptune, Charlemagne, Thor, Kate Greenaway, Blondel, Tom Thumb, and Phaethon. The buttons are primarily of metal construction with various relief decorations and shank attachments. Pick up is Friday, March 13 from 10 am to 4 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
