This collection of antique buttons features a diverse assortment of materials and construction techniques, primarily dating to the 18th century. The group includes floral-painted porcelain examples attributed to Menecy pottery, circa 1748, which feature basketweave surfaces and unglazed backs. Also present are 18th-century carved mother-of-pearl buttons with pinshanks and engraved brass buttons with floral stem designs and braised copper loop shanks. The collection further contains enameled metal pieces, reverse painting on glass with copper backings, and a vintage Chanel-set top that has been reset in silver. Many items are mounted on a blue card with extensive handwritten historical annotations and printed auction slips, while others are housed in individual plastic bags.

Mounting card: 10 inches in length Pick up is Friday, March 13 from 10 am to 4 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
